FALLING SILENCE

During a storm in Milford Sound, countless waterfalls poured from the cliffs above, some hundreds of metres high and impossible to ignore.

But it wasn't the biggest or most powerful falls that caught my attention. Hidden amongst the giants was this small ribbon of water, tucked away in the darkness of the cliff face. Compared to everything around it, it seemed insignificant, yet it was the one I kept coming back to.

There's something about its simplicity that stood out to me. No thundering roar, no dramatic scale, just a quiet waterfall hidden in plain sight amongst some of the most spectacular scenery in the country.
